ACTIVATE Protégé is a mentorship program that pairs emerging arts leaders with industry professionals. Selected mentors and mentees meet at least once a month to discuss agreed upon topics with an emphasis on the mentee’s areas of interest and desired professional growth. Mentees also participate in monthly online sessions, along with monthly meetings with mentors, for curated networking and skills building. Participants receive personalized and invaluable professional development opportunities aimed to enrich the careers of both mentee and mentor.
Note: Current participants of ACTIVATE Delegates 2026 and ACTIVATE Emerging Arts Leaders 2026 are not eligible to apply.
TIMELINE AND OTHER DETAILS:
- Commitment: June - November 2026
- Monthly 1.5 hr Protégé Mentee meetups. Facilitated by Arts for LA’s Programming Department, these meetings are a way for the mentee cohort to create a community of peers, meet art industry leaders, and develop skills that are useful and relevant in any professional setting.
- Monthly meetings will be held on the following dates:
- Wednesday, June 17: Official kickoff (In-person, location and time TBD)
- Wednesday, July 1: Mentee Meetup (Virtual, 6:30 - 8:00 pm)
- Wednesday, August 5: Mentee Meetup (Virtual, 6:30 - 8:00 pm)
- Wednesday, September 2: Mentee Meetup (Virtual, 6:30 - 8:00 pm)
- Wednesday, September 30: Mentee Meetup (Virtual, 6:30 - 8:00 pm)
- Thursday, October 22: Special in-person event (More details to follow)
- Wednesday, November: Mentee Meetup (Virtual, 6:30 - 8:00 pm)
Monthly 1-hour meeting between mentor/mentee. This one hour commitment is self-administered based on the mentor's and mentee's schedule. Meetings can be held virtually or in-person.
